Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1)

Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) - Susan Ee Seen at Scott Reads It Everybody on Goodreads kept on telling me to read Angelfall yet I wouldn't give in. I really didn't want to be disappointed because there's so much hype surrounding this book. Then finally, I requested Angelfall from my library because I couldn't help myself. I couldn't avoid reading this book any longer because I was so tempted to read it. Dear Penryn, I was going to say that I love your personality but I fear that you will go all kick-ass and ninja on me. I couldn't stop reading about your epic adventures while you tried to find Paige. It was truly like nothing I've ever read before and I loved it! I know I have said I love probably one thousand times or so already, if you don't like it deal with it! Uh oh. Please don't hurt me, I didn't mean it. *cowers* It was just so easy to imagine everything that was going on your journey (that makes me sound like some type of stalker) due to Susan Ee's superb, descriptive writing style. The action scenes were so well-done and they succeeded in being cinematic and extremely tense. This is the type of book that will keep you on the edge of your seat until you're finished reading it. Your relationship with Raffe was absolute perfection, you guys are a perfect couple! I loved Raffe's humor and he definitely made me laugh out loud a couple of times. I love a forbidden romance and this is definitely one of the best ones I've seen to date. I really hope you don't fall in love with some other dude or woman (it's cool if that's your thang) because I hate love triangles. Maybe I shouldn't have said that? I know feel so self-centered and like a total jerk. I mean you can fall in love with whoever you want; this is getting way too awkward! *conveniently changes topics* Angelfall scared the hell out of me, no that wasn't an Angel joke. The combination of angels and that terrible dystopian world you live in make a superb story. I know you're in a crappy situation but it is extremely entertaining to read about. The world-building in Angelfall was so complete and I had zero questions about the world which is extremely unusual for me. I would love to see more of this frightening world expanded upon in book #2. Angels are not some heavenly cute naked babies with wings and harmonicas. These angels are totally hardcore, bad to the bone. The angels you dealt with were so intimidating and frightening that I give you major kudos for not getting the bejesus scared out of you. Especially with what happened in the end, that ending was such a killer...The ending was so unexpected and just so heartbreaking yet freaky at the same time. If I were you, I wouldn't have been able to keep my cool but I'm no Penryn. I don't know how I can bear waiting until October 10th for book #2, maybe it's good that I waited so long to start Angelfall. If I had to have waited over 2 years, I would have been a very unhappy camper.Could you persuade the awesome Susan Ee to release book #2 sooner? Or at least release a title or cover or something to mitigate this wait and make it not as horrible. How will I survive until October 10th? I need some emotional support, sorry for dumping my bookish baggage on ya! I know this is random but Angelfall needs to become a movie like ASAP that would be the best. This picture basically sums up all of my feelings for Angelfall in such a precise way:Sincerely,Scott
